Cadiz, Spain
Cadiz is on the eastern side of the Strait of Gibraltar. It’s a small port city on a island-like peninsula. It was very walkable and quaint. We walked around most of the city. There was quite a bit of shopping and a great open air market with seafood, cheese, meat, fruits and veggies, etc.

Dinner at 8pm and show in the heater at 10pm rounded out the evening before we headed to our room. Richard and Jeff were seated with us fur dinner again. We both had duck breast for our main course which was delicious.
We opted to have a lunch of tapas and beer. We had amazing chicharones, a Spanish tortilla (potato omelette), and a toast topped with Spanish ham/cream cheese.
After lunch we headed back to the ship. We took a nap and then participated in an afternoon trivia. Then plopped ourselves in the atrium to catch up on things needing internet, have some coffee, listen to some live music, and play cards.
The newest and largest cruise ship in the world was also docked in Cadiz: Royal Caribbean’s Icon of the Seas. It must be getting the final touches and testing before being out into service next month in Florida.

Regarding food: the buffet which we usually visit for breakfast and lunch is very good. The dining room is excellent. Not every course has been perfectly delicious, but most have.
At about midnight Morocco was very visible as we sailed through the narrow passage between Europe and Africa. Although it was dark of course, there were many lights visible on shore. We are hoping our return is during the daytime. We shall see.
Tomorrow is Malaga: we will be docked from 8:00am to 11:30 pm, quite a long day. We decided to order room service for breakfast. We shall see what unfolds tomorrow.
